What I’m Working on NOW, NOW

4.28.24 Started the day off with a good word at Church and finally did some cleaning and some writing. My nephew and his baseball team rallied and finished the day 2-0. They went 4-0 this weekend and brought home the gold. I am so proud of the team.

4.27.24 Sports double header for my nephew. We started the day off at the track field where my nephew won two golds and one bronze. Then we moved over to the baseball field where he played two games and was dead tired by the end. The Prospects went 2-0 for the day.

4.26.24 Still riding high on my success from yesterday and the good news just keeps rolling in. Found out that I have been invited to be apart of the Literary Lounge this coming July. This year is all about increasing my exposure and I thank God for where I am right now and I can only hope to keep this motivation.

4.25.24 Wow! I have had two successful book events this year. The Silent Book Club was super fun and I exceeded my goal and sold 7 books. Cellar & Ale is an awesome location and one that I would definitely go back to. The people, the food, and the vibe are all on point.

4.24.24 One more day. I am so excited and a little bit nervous. I hope to sell anywhere from 3-5 books

4.23.24 Two more days until I will be one of two guest authors at Cellar & Ale for the Silent Book Club hosted by SiponStories.

4.22.22 Happy Earth Day. I hope you all do something fun and think about the planet.

4.21.24 Got some good news about a really good exposure opportunity for my first book Dark Obsessions. That is what this year is all about for me getting my exposure and my book into the hands of more readers.

4.20.24 Gotta work this weekend and not too happy about it. Going miss my nephew’s track met and his two baseball games. Happy 4/20.

4.18.24 Did an Indeed search just to see what type of writing jobs are available.

4.17.24 Started working on edits for the final chapter of the second book. Looking forward to being on Cooking with Positivity again. Book has been successfully delivered. I can’t wait for her to read it.

4.15.24 It’s Tax Day. I hope everyone filed their taxes. Shared my Book Trailer with my coworkers and they all liked it as much as I did. I was happy about that. I also started considering looking for a Freelance Writing Position.

4.14.24 Book Trailer is finished and approved. Big thanks to Legacy Ink Media. I will definitely work with them again.

4.13.24 I think that I am finally happy with a very important chapter of Book 2. I have one more chapter to edit and then I hope I can do a final read through with no more edits.

4.11.24 Watched some TV. My normal Thursday shows. Gotta love ABC.

3.24.24 Happy and so proud of my nephew and his baseball team. They won their first tournament rings today coming in second place. I know that this will be the first of many.

3.23.24 Looking forward to having some much-needed time off from work. I am so in my head and just need sometime to mentally reset and figure out what I want to do.

3.21.24 Got some good news today. I found out that two different podcasts would like to feature me and Dark Obsessions on their show. I am not nervous about doing them just nervous about the potential exposure. The Spring Book Scoot at Camp Northend in Charlotte is right around the corner.

3.20.24 Spoke with a literary agent who rubbed me the wrong way. They got me thinking that maybe I should let this dream go. Some of the things they said I totally understand but the real question is do I keep pushing and hope and pray that one day Dark Obsessions and its full story will be loved by all.

3.18.24 Dark Obsessions made it to the London Book Fair. I did not think it was going to happen but it did. I can only hope that it will lead to some great exposure that will turn into sales.

3.16.24 Baseball season is back. My nephew had his first game of the season and you know I was right there to cheer him on.

3.15.24 Got the registration done to be one of the 50 featured authors at the Bookmarks Book Fair. We shall see if I am chosen.

3.12.24 Not going to get my hopes up or even read to much into it but I may have come across an interesting opportunity for my book. Best of all it is actually something that I can afford.

3.11.24 While church was needed I still have been in a very weird place. I think that I need to hit the rest button. My days off work can not come fast enough. I am looking forward to the end of the month.

3.10.24 Church and the message was much needed for me and my spirit. I am going to try really heard to not live in that negative space. I am going to try and have faith and keep the faith that this book is supposed to happen, not on my time but on God’s. I am going to try and write since I can not get the idea of this book out of my head.

3.8.24 I finally heard back from Truman Press and they say that they are getting positive feedback and clicks on the press release for my book. This should have helped to make me feel better but it didn’t. I am still stuck and feeling like this is nothing more than another failure for me.

3.7.24 Still stuck in my head and not in a good place with writing. I hate when I have theses negative and fearful thoughts because they are so crippling to me.

3.6.24 Been stuck in a bit of brain fog and have not been able to write.

3.5.24 Dark Obsessions is officially on its way to its second International Book Fair. It is traveling across the pond to London. I almost though that it was not going to make there but a miracle finally happened.

3.2.24 A little more than a month before I have my third Book Scoot in Camp North End. I hope that it is as much of a success as the first one. Also sent out another copy of Dark Obsessions for another International Book Fair. Its London Bound Baby!

3.1.24 Hapy March 1st. Hope this month and the coming months are good to me and Dark Obsessions as well as all of you.

2.29.24 Found a couple more book fairs that I think that I will try my hand at and see if I can more followers and lovers of my book Dark Obsessions.

2.28.24 Heard back from an Influencer who will be reading Dark Obsessions next month. I am excited and nervous to learn what she thinks.

2.27.24 While I love the hardback for Dark Obsessions I have concerns that it will not sale well. I hope that I am wrong and just overthinking like always.

2.26.24 Finding some time to get back to editing and getting the second book completed. I came to some decisions on what I feel is best for me and my book. I want to things that I am being offered I just do not think that now is the right time.

2.24.24 Getting back to Baseball. The new season is about to start. I can’t wait to see my nephew in action.

2.21.24 After what has left like a lifetime ago, I am happy to report that Dark Obsessions is now in a Hardback format. YAY!

2.11.24 Happy Super Bowl Sunday. Usher’s halftime show was A+++ and while the game pretty good The Chief ‘s won and I was going for the 49".

2.8.24 Emails for the Book Scoot have gone out and a few of the original authors have decided to come back for a third time. Here’s hoping that it is just as successful as the first one.

2.6.24 It is strange but I have not been able to focus. It is not like writer’s block, I know what I want to say and how I want to write it. My problem is I sit down at my computer to write and I can type a line or two before my mind is off track.

2.4.24 Getting closer to having the hardback books for Dark Obsessions completed. I can’t wait to see what it looks like in a hardback format.

2.3.24 Some great College Basketball was on today. Hate that my Blue Devils got beat but glad that my Vols beat Kentucky. Its great to be a VOL!

1.28.24 Finished out the week watching Ghost Adventures on Hulu. I finished watching all of season 3 today. The show is interesting to say the least. Been in my feeling today because of a review for Dark Obsessions. It was not bad but made me feel some type of way.

1.27.24 Heard from Dorrance that my hardback copy has been ordered. I am so exited and ready to get my hands my actual hard copy.

1.25.24 Finishing up my work week and looking forward to being off work on Friday even though all I have planned is to clean up.

1.23.24 Made some progress on edits for my second book. Not sure when it will be finished and when I will be ready to get it into production.

1.22.24 Super excited. Today I have signed and finalized al the promotional items that have been created by Truman Press. The showcase will go live on the 26. I can only hope that this is a success and that I see an increase in sales and appeal for my book. Hoping to become a Best Selling Author.

1.20.24 It has been a long ride. Six years ago today my nephew was at the NASCAR Hall of Fame meeting Chase Elliott, Ryan Blaney, and Martin Truex Jr at NASCAR’S Fan Day. Today he is back at the hall of fame meeting the Class of 2024.

1.19.20 Induction Day. Today Jimmie Johnson, Chad Knaus, and Donnie Allison will officially be inducted into the NASCAR Hall of Fame.

5.28.23 Another busy day at the Hall thanks to the weather and the 600 getting pushed to Monday. I entered Dark Obsessions into the Readers Favorite Book Award. Don’t know why but I do not have very high hopes.

5.27.23 Race Weekend in Charlotte. Sadly, the race was postponed due to rain and the Hall was slammed.

5.12.23 Had two more awesome positive reviews come back from Instagram bloggers for Dark Obsessions. Both post got really good numbers in terms of like so here’s hoping that I will start to see an increase in sales for my book. It is a slow burn hoping that it will turn into a wildfire.

5.11.23 After nearly two months of not being able to write due the going full time at my job and reworking my schedule I was finally able to do some much needed work on book 2. Not there yet but the change in the ending is coming along.

5.8.23 Dark Obsessions will be heading to Frankfurt for the 2023 International Book Fair. That will make two International Book Fairs this year and I can only hope that something positive will come from one or both of them.

5.2.23 Day 2 of Onboarding for my new Assistant Manager Position.

5.1.23 My consignment deal with the Bool Soup is over and I am proud to say that it was a success. I sold 4 out of 5 copies that they had on their shelves. Day 1 of my Full-time Onboarding.

4.29.23 With the new promotion I have not been doing much of anything else besides working. I am happier in my job but it is still far from what I want and where I see myself. 4.17.23. It is official I am the New Assistant Manager of the Admissions Department at the Nascar Hall of Fame. This means that I have more room to promote and work on my Book.

4.2.23 Happy Birthday to me. Palm Sunday. Spent that day at the Ball Park and the Senators brought home Big Rings by winning their first Championship.

4.1.23 Started celebrating my birthday. Baseball games got cancelled but went out to dinner with the family.

3.30.23 Looking towards the future. My Birthday is on the horizon.

3.28.23 Weird today I applied for my second full time position at the Hall. Turns out I applied for them One year and One Month apart. I applied for the first one April 28, 2022, and the second one March 28, 2023. Hopefully the second time will be better.

3.25.22Another great weekend for baseball. The Senators won both their games on Saturday. The are looking good.

3.22.23 Authors and venues are coming along for the Book Scoot. Getting excited and hope that there will be a great turnout for myself as well as the other authors that have come aboard.

3.20.23 Been in my new position of less than a month and its starting to look like I will be in for another promotion. Things are moving quickly but writing and this book are my future.

3.14.23 Won my Third Awesomeness Award at my job today for Inclusion. It makes me feel really good to know that people actually do see me and value me after the year that I have had on the job.

3.1.23 Excited for new opportunities at my job. I started in a new position with the Admissions Department.

2.12.23 Superbowl 57 did not disappoint as I was only watching for the Doritos. One of my favorite commercials and the squarespace one was not bad either. The ending though now that was funny- Guess the Eagles should not have booed Dak while getting his Walter Payton Man of the Year Trophy.

2.10.23 Took a lateral promotion at my job and will be changing departments. Moving over to Admissions to gain more experience and more exposure. More importantly I will be making more money which will be used to help promote Dark Obsessions. Its all for my book, hoping things work out.

2.1.23 Happy Black History Month. As a people we have come so far but the work is not over. We still have so much to do, change and accomplish.

1.30.23 After 5 successful days from the Blog Tour it is time to dive back into Book 2. I have decided to make a few additional changes on some previous chapters before working on the ending. Today I also found out that I sold One Copy of my book from the Book Soup. One down and 4 more to go.

1.9.23 Today Marks the first day of the week that the Hall of Fame will be closed for its Glory Road Refresh. Excited to what vehicles will be on display for Nascar’s 75 Anniversary Themed Glory Road.

1.8.23 After Attending Thorne of Grace Ministries I made it official and finally joined the church.

12.29.22 My last day at work until the New Year. Hope I am able to deal with people better than I was yesterday. I am just not in a people mood.

12.28.22 Back at work with over 900 guests coming through our doors.

12.27.22 Undeck the Halls at the Nascar Hall of Fame. I was not there but I heard that it was another great turn out. Worked on Chapter 17 of book two and the second that I finished the third rewrite I decided on yet another change for the Chapter. Also made plans to see my ACE. Found out that I have to work on Wed and that was somewhat depressing.

12.26.22 Today was all about rest and relaxation. Enjoyed my new Christmas Pjs and vegged out on the couch. Another day filled of Lifetime Christmas movies.

12.25.22 Jesus is the reason for the season and with that said I went to Church before going to my sister’s house have Christmas Dinner and spend some time with my entire family. It was nice to my dad, my brother and his three kids. Nothing like having family around for the Holidays.

12.24.22 Spent most of the day cooking Christmas Dinner for the Family.

12.22.22 Stayed up too late watching more Christmas Movies and trying to finish Mrs. Claus’ makeover in Project Makeover.

12.21.22 Tried to get into the Holiday Spirit by Watching Lifetime Christmas Movies.

12.20.22 Should have been working on Book 2 and doing some Instagram post but instead I spent the day playing Project Makeover on my phone. Trying to finish the Christmas Makeover Challenge for Mrs. Claus

12.19.22 Spent the day cleaning up my house. Trying to get things in order the Christmas Holiday and New Year. Finally did my Christmas Holiday grocery shopping

12.14.22 Finished Chapters 23 and 24 of Book Two. I have some new ideas of Chapter 25 and a few changes to be made in Chapters 12 and 13.

12.4.22 First Sunday of the Month. Communion Sunday. The Cowboys beat the Colts and learned that my Vols will play in the Orange Bowl against Clemson. With our defense not sure if we can get that win.

12.3.22 Took a break from writing to catch up on some tv. I binge watched Wednesday and loved the entire series. Ready for Season 2.

12.2.22 Still stuck on Chapter 22 of the Book 2. I just can’t decide where this chapter needs to go and how to get it there. I really don’t want to cut it out as I want to keep the book at 30 chapters.

12.1.22 Happy December. The year is almost over and I am excited to see what the new will bring for me and Dark Obsessions.

11.28.22 The BookFest has completed my order for my trophy. Back to book two. I have discovered that I am struggling with the presser of making book 2 just as good or better than book 1.

11.27.22 First time working a weekend day at the Hall in a long time. Even though it felt slow I hated every minute of it and don’t plan doing so in the near future.

11.26.22 In state rivalry game between My Vols and Vandy. After that SC game I will not be watching

11.25.22 Happy Black Friday but not shopping for me. I will be spending a busy day at the Hall working

11.24.22 Happy Thanksgiving and boy was it ever. Had a great time with Family and my Dallas Cowboys broke their Thanksgiving Cruse and won on Thanksgiving Day for the first time in 6 years.

11.23.22 First day of work for this short Holiday week. I really hope that we are not that busy today.

11.5.22 It’s Football time. Another week without Baseball so I was able to chill and watch my Tennessee Vol Football Game. It was an ugly game against Georgia who should have been ranked number 1 all along. Happy that we kept it close and only lost by 14pts.

11.2.22 Did my part to help move this country forward by casting my vote in the North Carolina Midterm elections. I hope you did your part as well.

11.1.22 Realized that there is an actual trophy for the BookFest Awards that my book placed in and that it actually placed Third in Two of the Three Categories that I entered it in. The Crystal Book Trophy is really really nice.

10.31.22 Happy Halloween. This is the first year in a while that I have not done anything or dressed up for Halloween. Our family's yearly Halloween House Party was canceled because my nephew had a baseball game.

10.28.22 Friday Night Football. Went out to support my niece for Senior Night at Independence High School.

10.27.22 After reading through the first half of book two I think that I am going to change up a few chapters. I am not liking the way Kairo’s character is changing.

10.25.22 Reading through the first half of book two and I am liking what I have done. Gonna print the first five chapters out and finally let my sister read them just to see what she thinks about the direction that book two is going.

10.24.22 Still no word from my publishing company about when Dark Obsessions will be back for sale on their website. As proud as I am about winning an American Fiction Award I wish I never had the seal added to the cover. It seems as if they just have a desire to get my book back up on the website. Putting it in God’s hands and holding onto Faith that he will get me through this latest fight with the Devil.

10.22.22 Found out that Dark Obsessions is now a Two Time Winner. It had taken Third place in the 2022 BookFest Awards in two categories Fiction>Fantasy-Dark and Fiction>Fantasy-Paranormal & Urban.

10.16.22 Still can not believe that my Vols broke a 15 year losing streak to Alabama. It is looking like a Vol Sunday. I will be Orange and White from head to toe at Church and all day. #SorryNotSorry

9.18.22 Rough weekend for the Carolina Bulls. They went 0-3 but it is all good they will bounce back.

9.17.22 Screaming Happy Birthday to my Sister Nicole. Bulls baseball weekend and I created promotional business cards that has the cover of the book on the front and the QR code on the back.

9.16.22 Continued my winnings by setting up my Book Award Pro account. While I have not submitted my book into any new awards I have seen some that I am interested in.

9.15.22 Sent over new logos to my publisher to have my American Fiction Award Gold seal placed on the cover of my boo.

9.14.22 Rewrote chapter 9 of book two. After winning an award for Dark Obsessions I am feeling the pressure to make sure that book two is just as good if not better. Can’t rush the process when it is right and done it will be done.

9.13.22 Set up Blog Tour for Dark Obsessions and reached out to my publisher to have the winning gold seal added to my book graphics.

9.12.22 I picked the worst event shift of my life. 4 hours sitting in a rocking chair telling guest that they could not leave with their drinks to go smoke. BORING but at least I got paid to do nothing although I could have been writing.

9.11.22 Sunday Funday. Attended Church at Throne of Grace and sadly watched my Dallas Cowboys look bad and lose to the Bucs. Gonna be more of the same out my Boys but 0-16 or 16-0 Cowboys till I die. Real Fan over here.

9.10.22 No Baseball so I spent the day away from my writing table. Enjoyed some family time and watched my Tennessee Vols take on the Pitt Panthers and win the Johnny Majors Classic. It’s great to be a VOL.

9.9.22 Even though the announcement came out on Sept 7 today I found out that I won an American Fiction Award. MIC DROP Dark Obsessions is the 2022 Award winner in the Romance: Paranormal/Supernatural category of the 2022 American Fiction Awards.

9.8.22 Back to work at the Hall even though all I want to do is stop working and just write. One day that will be true but until then I must keep grinding to pay the bills and make Dark Obsessions the success that I know that it can be.

9.6.22 Reread and reworked some earlier chapters of Book 2. It seems like I just came not get to a happy place with the first half and ending of the second book.

9.5.22 Happy Labor Day! Planning to spend this rainy Monday doing some work on Book 2. I want to get it into production by the middle of next year.

8.1.22 Reached out to a bookstore in the UK that is working with self published and indie publishers. Working on getting Dark Obsessions in their store to increase my international exposure.

7.29.22 Heard back from the crew at the Charlotte Readers Podcast and my episode will air on August 9. I am some what nervous but also very excited.

3.19.22 Crazy to think about but 1 year ago today I received my edited manuscript for my first novel Dark Obsessions. Still have not heard any news about the book but hoping to hear something this week because I am still not in the proper head space to write and that is killing me.

3.8.22 I have been trying to do some writing and working on book two but it has been a very frustrating process. Dark Obsessions is being worked on and tomorrow marks 5 weeks . I was told the process could take up to 6 weeks so I am hoping that things will be back on track soon.

10.27.21 It is finally finished, the first rough draft of my second book is done and in the books. After a few days I will start the long and grueling editing process and rewrite. I have learned a lot from the first book and hope and pray that it will be well received and loved by millions.

8.26.21 Work, work and more work. Took on a new project to help my manager out. It seems like a lot but I am all about being a team player and doing my part to help.

8.25.21 After days or maybe even a month off I am finally back to doing what I love. Working on finishing my second novel. If writing is what I want to d I have got to keep this train moving.

8.24.21 Had to go over my project coordinator’s head but I think that I finally got the issues wit my cover straightened. I am ready to see the finished product.

8.18.21 Spent the day cleaning and getting ready to go back to work. I am so over my job and want more and more to have a successful writing career.

8.17.21 Getting my hair done will Tropical Storm Fred brings the rain to Charlotte. Having some cover design issues that I am not happy about. I have to remember that anything worth having does not come easy.

8.16.21 No work for me. Getting new carpet at the house. I know now to never get carpet in a full furnished house, way too much work.

8.15.21 Finished what I hope are the final proofs of Dark Obsessions. I just keep finding mistakes and I pray that this will be the last of them.

8.14.21 Happy Birthday Daddy. With a deadline approaching I am going to enjoy some time with my dad and celebrate his birthday.

8.10.21 Spent the last several days working at the Hall while getting my final revisions. Time to read Dark Obsessions one more time.

8.4.2021 I got my cover mock back today. I was super happy only to realize that it was not correct. Back to the drawing board. No one ever said that it this was going to be easy.

8.2.21 Having a relaxing day watching more of the Olympics before having to go into work to lead my team in Tour Training. I can think of better things to do with my day off but work calls.

8.1.21 Day 9 the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, still have a lot to watch but I am still going. Nothing is better than watching the Olympics.

7.31.21 What can I say, it is more of the same still watching the Olympics.

7.30.21 Playing Catch up on the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. I have only 13 items recorded with more recording as I type this. Gonna be a long watch day.

7.29.21 Spent all day working at the Nascar Hall of Fame 8 am til 9:45 pm

7.28.21 Tokyo 2020 caused me to take a longer break from both Dark Obsessions and the second book that I am working on. What can I say I love the Olympics and they only come around every 4 years. Once I get through my long work day tomorrow it is back to the writing.

7.24.21 Took a small break from the book to watch the Olympics. #Tokyo2020

Happy to learn that I have been assigned to a cover designer. This book is really happening. I still find that hard to believe sometimes.

7.23.21 Thank God for honest friends and family. With their help I am in the process of redesigning my cover for Dark Obsessions. All my hard work will be wasted if no one wants to even pick up the book. It all starts with the Cover.

7.21.21 It is done. All my final edits are completed and have been sent back to my project coordinator. Next step Cover Design and tweaking the cover I already had made.

7.20.21 Last day of a six day work week while trying to finish final edits on the book. Been a long six days but I would not change it for the world. Happy to have found something that I love to do.

7.19.21 Six more chapters down and just seven more to go. I can see the finish line on this part of the book. I am so ready for the world to meet Kairo and Skylar

7.18.21 Three more days until my deadline is complete. Been tired juggling my job and my passion but it will get done. Who needs sleep, because sleep is so overrated. Just 13 more chapters to finish.

7.17.21 Burning the midnight oil late into the evening getting my final edits completed.

7.16.21- Just finished my first read through of my final edits of Dark Obsessions. One more complete read through to make sure I am happy with everything and the next step is cover design. SUPER EXCITED!!!

7.15.21- After a long work day at the Nascar Hall of Fame I am finally able to get back to what I love, Booklandia! I have five more chapters to read through and edit before doing one last final run. Dark Obsessions is almost ready to be purchased.

7.14.21 - Today is a great day. I am currently making my final edits for my page proofs of my very first Paranormal Adult Novel Dark Obsessions. While I am working on that I am also working on finishing my second paranormal adult novel. Super excited for the world to meet and fall in love with Skylar and Kairo.
